Feeling Optimistic

Today I am lost in thought. I am thinking about the coming year. Feels like there are many changes on the horizon for the United States. I have an optimistic outlook because I know the people are tired of the Obama admin. Its time for healthy change for the U.S. I am also planning on investing in a small business of some sort. No I done want any ideas, I already know what I want to do. I just know things are going to get better after all when your on the bottom there is no where else to go but up. I need to remember to balance home and work in order to stay positive and healthy.

Its Time To Plant!

Wednesday, March 18, 2015
Once again Spring has sprung! It is time to plant wonderful herbs, bulbs or maybe its flowering trees that you prefer. What ever your hearts desire be sure to plant them on time to insure their survival. I am planting several of the mint family in containers. I have chosen to plant peppermint, spearmint, and chocolate mint. Mint is a fragrant, full plant that is great for adding atmosphere to your favorite spaces. Another wonderful attribute is that you can use it to flavor drinks or food. Enjoy this planting season and may you be blessed with many beautiful successes!

The Lady In White

Thursday, January 15, 2015
As I sat looking through my third eye I saw darkness. That was not all I saw though. I looked  towards my left shoulder and saw solid white energy. The white energy then moved away from me and began to take shape. I realized it was a woman. The woman came forward towards me until the white energy enveloped me. I was looking down now and found myself fearing what I would see when I looked up. Looking up I was face to face with a blonde haired blue eyed lady. She said nothing but there was kindness in her eyes and a look of concern. After all she was in another dimension and I was now strangely there with her. When I looked away from her I could see a dark vastness of nothing. There was however light coming from her, which was arching out into the dark. I wanted to explore but she seemed to suddenly appear once again before my face. She did not want me to go out into the dark. She kept looking up above my head, why I do not know. I decided it was time to leave this dimension. I shook my head and opened my eyes. I have never seen the lady in white again and know nothing about her.
In the silence of the moment I can hear a ringing. I attribute it to the vibration of the world and all the living things around me. I settle back down into myself and realize I am truly never alone.

Bagelwich

I enjoy a good bagelwich for lunch. I do not put too much on my bagelwich, just some salami, ham and cheese is fine for me. If you need more flavor or fiber you may want to add something green like lettuce, pickles or cucumber slices. Bagels are a nice alternative to the traditional sandwich. Here I have used the everything bagel. There are other flavors you may want to try such as onion or plain.

Remember To Romance Your Love

Tuesday, January 13, 2015
It is not always enough just to be in a relationship. A relationship is like a muscle. Work it and it will strengthen. Give it no work and it will weaken. There are many ways to work on a relationship. Being a good listener does not always come natural but it is a start. Listen , really listen to what your mate is saying when you are having a conversation. Being in the present moment is important since people can sense when you are not really interested or listening to what they are saying. If you feel distracted at home get out and wine and dine your mate. Think of a romantic place where you can set the mood. Once again practice your listening skills and be present. Dress for the occasion because any quality time that you spend with your mate is worth the effort. The rule of thumb with matching chocolates with wine is, the more intense the chocolate, the more intense the wine should be. The more mellow the chocolate the more mellow the wine should be. The flavors balance each other out. Does this remind you of something? A relationship is also like wine and chocolate. The more intense you are the more intense your relationship will be. The more mellow you are the more mellow your relationship will be. Life truly is a celebration. Break out the chocolates and wine and be in the moment!

My New Part Time Job And Healthy Outlook On Life

Well its a new year and my new year resolution is to save money to invest in something. Just what that is I am not quite sure. I got a part time job as a cashier in a grocery store. The job does not pay much but with time I will reach my goal. Today was such a busy day the time just flew by.
Working in retail is very busy and takes a lot of energy, I am getting used to being micromanaged which was something I never thought I would have to deal with again. I guess it just comes with the territory.
Otherwise the customers are friendly and patient with me. I do not know how long I will be at this job but they are willing to work with my schedule, which is a blessing. All in all I am very thankful to have this job. It takes up my free time and I have a goal to work towards. I think having a goal and a healthy past time are important to maintaining a healthy outlook on life.

Phone Apps I Like

Wednesday, January 7, 2015
I recently discovered a couple of apps, for smart phones, to make my simple life a little more simple. Shopular is a sale app. It lists stores sales, weekly ads, and website links. It is very handy when trying to find the best deals. I enjoy sharing the sales on facebook and twitter from their websites. I don't know why but helping people spend money is almost as fun as spending it myself...almost.
The other app I enjoy is yummly. Yummly is a app that has food recipes. I find it convenient for finding something new to make, and while I am at the grocery store I just buy the ingredients. I try to stick to the healthier recipes but some of the pictures on the desserts look sooo good.
What are some apps that you like?

Fall/Winter Decor Simple & Inexpensive

Monday, November 10, 2014
Simple seems best for fall and winter decor. Here I have chosen long stems of grass, some of them dyed for a splash of color. They are great for accents to drab neutral colored walls. These are inexpensive and can be found at dollar stores.

Kids Too Old For Trick or Treating?

Thursday, October 30, 2014
There are still lots of fun activities for kids to participate in even if they are too old for trick or treating. Attend a haunted house, or participate in one. There is also a pumpkin carving contest that you can host yourself. Pumpkins prices are usually slashed the day before Halloween. Prizes for winners can be simple like a $10 gift card Barnes & Noble. Have fun with the prize ideas.

Christmas Decor The Thrifty Way

Tuesday, October 7, 2014
Now that I am walking and able to drive I am taking full advantage of garage sales. Its amazing how many garage sales I saw this last weekend. With Christmas just around the corner my thoughts are on how to create a festive mood around the house. How else but with plenty of decor!
Christmas does not have to cost a fortune. I found some decorative items for .50 cents. These Christmas mugs make perfect vases for fresh smelling pine or cedar boughs. How many other things can you think of filling them with? Candy canes, various party favors the possibilities are endless. For those of you also bargain hunting, happy hunting!

Finished Bottle Art

Wednesday, September 24, 2014
I have finished my bottle and it turned out to be simple rather than more decorative. I have taken pictures of each side which repeat themselves on the other two sides. I think darker colors would have stood out more.

I Planted An Avocado

Wednesday, September 17, 2014
This is my avocado plant. It took a month to germinate and sprout which obviously took patience. I thought it would just keep growing with leaps and bounds but it has slowed down so I am back to having patience. I re-potted it thinking that it would grow faster but with no luck. I guess it will grow into a tree in its own time.
It reminds me of a child. Children take lots of patience.

First Day Of Physical Therapy

Monday, September 15, 2014
Physical therapy turned out not to be so bad. The lady was very nice. She moved my toe which felt good. I am going to be in the water pool alot which I am not to crazy about. I hate to show my pale legs. Gross.
In the end I am just thankful to finally be getting some help. I was put on a walker because they said the way I was walking was harmful to my body. I am so relieved because I was exhausting myself putting too much weight on one leg.
I was given homework to do. I have to do the exercises 10 times a day! 30 reps each! This will help the swelling go down. The muscles need to work and pump the blood to get the fluid out of the leg and foot.
Now I am going to have to get back to driving because my husband is tired of taking me to appointments since it is interfering with his work. I completely understand. He has been a trooper but it is exhausting to care for someone for a prolonged amount of time.
Well that was my physical therapy day 1. Back to my exercises...
